DANSTOPIC. Animation and augmented reality workshops for illustrators and graphic artists
Indie Box is looking for 10 illustrators / graphic designers who want to experience collaboration with other arts, in workshops supported by Skeptic Dog (animation) and The Human Interface (AR), part of the DANSTOPIC project.
During the beginning of the pandemic, 10 choreographers with activity in contemporary dance wrote a letter in which they reflected on the movement, dance, body and context in which they are. We want to find 10 paired illustrators, who will be inspired by their thoughts and interpret the letters in a visual representation.
If you want to explore with the Indie Box team, we invite you to an intersection of contemporary dance and visual arts, where you will learn how to turn your illustrations into augmented animations on Instagram or Artivive. The result of the workshops will be an illustrated postcard, which will contain, in the augmented version, a letter and the related animation. The works will be promoted online and physically in an exhibition organized at the end of the project.
Participation in the workshops is free for 10 people, following a selection made by the project team.
Workshop program (it is necessary to be able to participate in all meetings):
// April 17
- brief introduction to the project
- techniques for preparing illustrations to be animated
// 8 May
// May 15
- augmented reality workshop and upload
// May 16
- feedback and socializing meeting
The workshops will take place at AREAL – space for choreographic development (str. Anastasie Simu, no. 2, Bucharest).
The workshop will be carried out in sanitary safety conditions, respecting the physical distance and the safety measures imposed by law. During the workshop, wearing the mask inside the AREAL space is mandatory.
* In the event of new restrictions during the workshops, it is possible that some of the meetings will take place online.
How do you register?
Send an e-mail to email@example.com in which you can briefly tell what dance means to you and why you would like to participate in the workshops. Please also attach a portfolio / link to your works and your contact details. You will be notified by email if you have been selected.
Registration deadline: April 10
Communication of selection results: April 12
