collective performance

Hosted by: Ioana Marinescu, Iulia Mărăcine, Smaranda Găbudeanu and Andreea David

The mould is the imprint of an object on a surface, a negative of form, palpable memory.

To the ancient Greeks, memory was the imprint on the soul of a past event.

You are invited to take part in a collective performance, an exercise in remembering framed by the action of mould making. Fragments of personal and collective memories will interfere with physical actions. You are welcome to bring an art work, a story, a text, a song, a small object or a photograph as a trigger for certain memories. Or simply bring yourself.

You can take part in the performance or you could only witness it. Those who wish to participate, please bring clothes that can get dirty. We will work with plaster, which is easy to wash off.

Past Present proposes a back and forth movement between forgetting and remembering, erasing and restoring. What remains when seemingly there is nothing left? What is the potential for generating new perspectives on a challenging past?

Film: Laurențiu Calciu.

Sound: David Crawford, Doru Apreotesei

Featuring: Thomas Goodey, Hennie Lee, Eliza Trefaș
