A flight or fall is never a finished or complete event. It is always part of the process of transitioning between states.
In this workshop, we will ensemble improvisation into transitioning between the states of flying and falling while working with the Contact Improvisation principles of gravity, momentum, and touch.
We will start at zero to connect to our bodies, our interest, and intuition and move on to building group safety and trust.
We will take advantage of the beautiful soft floor to experiment and practice spiraling, catching, landing, and going into the backspace.

Open to all levels, no previous movement experience needed.

Facilitator:
Adrianna Michalska: Contact Improvisation dancer, vagabond and independent artist with a background in somatics, contact improvisation, creative writing, and various improvisation methods studied across the globe. She is interested in embracing artistic practices from different cultures into a creative process and looking at the trans-disciplinary potential when working with text, image, sound, and movement. She is passionately curious about exploring and making connections between different bodily practices, as well as working with instant composition in performances in participatory and experiential pieces. With her work she traveled, performed, and shared with many diverse audiences in India, Thailand, Romania, Poland, UK, Singapore, and more.
