𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫 In collaboration with 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐝 (choreographer), 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐬 𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞 (architect), 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐝 (documentary film director), 𝐂𝐨𝐮 𝐀𝐧𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐝 and 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐝 (musicians).
On Friday, October 20, the collective performance takes place as part of the exhibition ‘𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀 The resulting casts thus become not just freestanding sculptural objects, but negatives that activate memory, past memories becoming tangible in the present. The process of imprinting, of taking a cast of a surface, and of subsequently accessing that surface through its negative, produces gestures that are as sculptural as they are performative and affective.
The performative actions, in turn, produce traces in space—an archaeological site, caught in a continuous process of negotiating various temporalities, rhythms, and spaces. The traces of the performance will be added to the content of the visual installation, which will remain in the gallery space until November 30.
