Stephen Batts about “INTIMACIES”:
“Sometimes I call my work “Poetic Movement” rather than dance because, although I have a background in contemporary dance, my interest has developed more and more towards the choreography of everyday life and the poetic possibilities in movement patterns which don’t fit into any particular dance idiom.
I have been developing choreography which is based on a detailed research into the elements of movement which we usually take for granted. I create choreography more from tonus, vertical and horizontal spatial arrangements, and the proximity of people to each other.
The performance is made up of sections of very tightly choreographed movement connected by fresh, open, playful, structured improvisations which rely on the amazing knowledge and sensitivity which Sasha and Serioja have developed between them over the years.

BIO
Alexandra and Sergey started in 1997 in a modern dance group called “Voices” under the direction of Angela Doniy. They became a duo in the year 2000. Since then they dance, improvise, teach, make choreographies together. They take part in international projects and performances (as dancers and as choreographers) and travel.
As artists they worked with M.A.P. Lisa Gimenes Company (France), “Ellen Kent & Opera International” (UK), Echo Echo Dance Theatre Company (Northern Ireland), Lava-Dansproduktion (Sweden). As choreographers they worked in collaboration with many groups in Moldova and abroad: “Potoki” dance Theatre, Ukraine; “Other dances” contemporary dance school in Dnipropetrovsk: “Dance BG Company”, Bulgaria; “Quadro” dance group, Byelorussia and other.
They are also the leaders of contemporary and folk dance school “Fantezia” in Chisinau, choreographers and dancers of contemporary dance group “Voices”.
