Artist Eliza Trefas invites the public to an open laboratory that continues her research on hunger, body and world, developed within the Unmapping Timișoara residency — a collective process of research and creation that has expanded into the city space through interventions, drifts and performative research.
“I propose a laboratory in which we would collectively explore connections between hunger and the world (literal or metaphorical hunger – concrete, physical, or abstract, affective, artistic ‘hunger’, etc.), through language and bodily practices. We will mediate states, thoughts, fragments of realities felt in the body in real time. The body walks between what we perceive and what we do not, between known and unknown, between meaning and nonsense, between fears, enthusiasm and hunger, between the effects of the environment and intuition.”
The workshop takes place within the Unmapping exhibition at Indecis — a collective installation that gathers the traces of this process in continuous transformation, bringing to the gallery space both documentations, sculptures, gestures, and performative activations that continue the logic of Unmapping: opening up to the unknown, suspending the ordinary and accepting uncertainty as a form of knowledge.
